#1002
$20.00
A Summer Remembrance was commissioned to conclude the Festival of Trumpets Concert at the 1989 International Trumpet Guild Conference at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
It is designed to be performed by as few as four players (it can be played by three), but there is no upper limit to the number of players that may be used. Sixteen players participated in its premiere; nine scattered around the audience, six in a nearby bell tower, and one almost a block away, all hidden from view.
It is dedicated to legendary studio trumpeter Mannie Klein.
The final movement (Solo) is also available separately for Unaccompanied Trumpet (#1002A).
3 or 4 or more Bb Trumpets.
The International Trumpet Guild premiere used 16 trumpeters. Another performance used over 30! Both smaller and larger groups are possible.
Difficulty: Advanced
Duration: 9:00
“The end of the third movement is like the voices of humanity crying out into the universe.”
