Fanfare St. Antoni makes a stirring opener for concerts and events.
It was commissioned in 2016 by Timothy M. Smith in celebration of his tenth season conducting the Contra Costa Chamber Orchestra in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The music subtly adapts and incorporates elements from the famous Chorale St. Antoni on which Johannes Brahms’ Variations on a Theme of Haydn is based.
3 Bb trumpets, 4 horns, 2 trombones, bass trombone, tuba, timpani, triangle, tenor drum, bass drum, cymbals, and tam-tam.
The percussion parts are not optional. They are integral to the composition.
Difficulty: Medium +
Duration: 3:50
